CEO of Planet First and Founder of The Planet Mark™
Steve is CEO of Planet First, sustainability consultancy and creator and custodian of The Planet Mark™. Steve provides strategic and practical advice on sustainability programmes in corporations to SMEs. He is passionate about communicating the benefits of sustainability through words, images, products and the built environment. A former civil engineer, marketing CEO and director of Guinness World Record events, Steve brings together practical solutions and the vision to reach mass audiences. Steve lives on a small holding in East Sussex with his wife and three boys.
Sarah is responsible for managing the partnership programme for sustainability certification The Planet Mark™. She has has worked with Planet First, the creator and custodian of The Planet Mark™, since its inception.
Sarah has worked in sustainability for over 15 years, and has extensive experience in business carbon footprinting, sustainability improvement actions and employee and tenant engagement. More recently her focus has been on the creation of a network of businesses with similar values to increase the reach of The Planet Mark™.
Acting Head of Certification
Andrew has been Acting Head of Certification for The Planet Mark™ since May 2016. His role includes managing The Planet Mark™ certification and our Code of Practice, ensuring that all services provided by Planet First, the creator and custodian of The Planet Mark™, comply with the latest relevant standards and best practice.
Andrew has worked with environmental technologies and sustainability services for over 15 years. He is a member of the Natural Capital Coalition and technical working groups for the UNEP Finance Initiative/GHG Protocol Portfolio Carbon Initiative, as well as previously for the CDP Climate Change and Food & Beverages sector groups.
Andrew is a recognised expert on greenhouse gas emissions and environmental reporting and was part of the core group that developed UK Government GHG reporting guidance for business.
Nadia joined Planet First in January 2017 as sustainability consultant, responsible for guiding customers to achieve and retain The Planet Mark™ Certification.
Nadia brings with her over eight years of carbon management of carbon and energy management consulting experience. She has worked with a number of private and public sector clients, including Imperial College Healthcare NHS, Imperial College London and Toyota GB, helping them manage the energy consumption of their estates to reduce operational costs, comply with environmental legislation and demonstrate corporate social responsibility.
Nadia has expertise in the development of carbon and energy management strategies, carbon management training, carbon accounting, progress reporting, environmental regulation compliance and advising investment in low carbon technologies.
Projects she managed have been nominated and won at the prestigious CIBSE Low Carbon Awards and her team was winner of the 2011 CIBSE Low Carbon Performance Award -Training for building Performance.
Head of Marketing and Communications
Louise joined Planet First in September 2015. She is responsible for marketing and communications for The Planet Mark™, including its clients and partners. She also consults on sustainability communication for Planet First consultancy, the creator and custodian of The Planet Mark™.
She is an experienced communicator and qualified journalist with deep knowledge of the sustainability and green business agenda. As well as founding and editing several publications, she has advised businesses on content marketing strategy and helped them devise successful online marketing campaigns.
Clients she has worked with in the past include Lloyds Bank, The Institute for Sustainability and ReEnergise.
Business Development Manager
Sadie joined Planet First in May 2017 as business development manager. Sadie has spent 17 years in sales and brings with her extensive knowledge of the sustainability market.
Most recently, Sadie was market sales manager for Faversham House, producer of the edie Network, the UK's largest multi-platform portfolio of sustainability information and resources. While there, Sadie worked across titles such as edie.net and events including edie Live (formerly Sustainability Live), where she specialised in sustainability certifications and standards.
Before joining Faversham House, Sadie was sales manager at Western Business Publisher for five years, where she worked on health and safety and construction publications.
Sadie lives in Surrey with her husband, step son, young son and dog. She enjoys the countryside and the natural environment alongside good food and wine.
Lilly joined Planet First, the creator and custodian of The Planet Mark™, in May 2013 in the role of Financial Controller.
Lilly is a Top 20 trained Chartered Certified Accountant and spent eight years specialising in corporate restructuring and investment management before transferring her skills to a more finance based role in 2012. Lilly has a passion for numbers and enjoys working with others.
