Business Development Executive

You’ll be joining at an exciting stage for this fast-growing brand as it expands in the UK and begins to scale internationally.

We are looking for a strong, independent sales person with at least two years’ business development experience to increase the reach of The Planet Mark™ across all sectors in the UK, with particular focus on the construction, legal, professional services and accountancy sectors.
This is a full-time role working for Planet First, an independent sustainability consultancy and creator and custodian of The Planet Mark™. Our team works remotely, with weekly team meetings in central London. It is therefore important that all applicants reside within easy commuting distance of London.
You will be an intelligent, graduate-calibre individual with a strong background in or knowledge of sustainability in business and a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude. Applicants must have demonstrable success in closing business and confidence with a complex consulting sell.
You will be targeting SMEs and selling to Heads of Sustainability, Sustainability Managers, Business Development Managers, Marketing Managers, MDs and CEOs. You will be expected to develop and close leads, selling our market-ready products, and upselling additional packages and consultancy services.
This role is predominantly phone/ home-based, but you will need to initiate and attend external meetings, events and client visits as product knowledge grows. You will be provided with a laptop and phone.

Essential Skills & experience:
- Minimum 2 years selling consultancy services
- Demonstrable track record of closing sales
- Intelligent lead sourcing in target sectors, training provided; some leads passed over.
- Telesales experience
- Excellent IT and communications skills
- Demonstrable interest in the environment and sustainability issues.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM databases.
Start date: April.
Negotiable, and dependent on experience (up to £24k plus commission).
