Graham Lee
Sustainability and Technical Manager
Bowmer + Kirkland
“Bowmer + Kirkland recognise the threat of climate change to the international community caused by carbon emissions and are therefore committed to reducing carbon emissions from our operations. This commitment has been longstanding, with B+K collecting data and reporting annually on its’ business carbon footprint since 2006. Throughout this period the carbon footprint data has been independently analysed, audited and certified in partnership with Planet Mark. ”

Graham Lee, Sustainability and Technical Manager for Bowmer + Kirkland added, “with an annual target of 5% reductions to our carbon footprint, potential initiatives are considered each year to help drive our commitment to reducing our carbon emissions. Our performance over the past 15 years has been consistent and overall met and continues to meet our annual target, with a total reduction of 60% to our business carbon footprint since 2006. We believe that it is time for B+K to be more ambitious with our carbon reduction targets and the initiatives we adopted. Currently we are reviewing our overall approach with a view as to how we can effectively drive our company towards the ultimate objective of net zero carbon in our business, site operations and the projects that we deliver.”

Bowmer + Kirkland believes in the sustainable use of resources, minimising environmental pollution, recycling and reducing waste. As well as committing to continuous reduction in its carbon footprint, Bowmer + Kirkland has committed to engaging its stakeholders and supply chain to help them improve their sustainable credentials. The company has also protected an acre of endangered rainforest with Planet Mark through Cool Earth.
