HotHouse, based in the unique surroundings of the Eden Project, Cornwall, is a new creative leadership programme designed for emergent leaders from across the public, private and third sectors.

The Eden Project, which is partner of The Planet Mark™, has launched its 2017 programme for educational charity’s Hothouse: Creative Leadership professional development course.

Based in the unique surroundings of the Eden Project, Cornwall, the four-day Hothouse residential leadership course invites participants to immerse themselves in “a world of creativity, imagination and exploration” with the aim of empowering them to bring about transformational change in both their professional and personal life.

First launched last year, the Hothouse Leadership programme aims to take people out of the “dreary corporate classroom” and expose them to a highly stimulating natural environment within Eden Project’s 50 hectare site of rainforest, woodlands, fields and Cornish beaches. It draws on the expertise of Eden founder Sir Tim Smit, and other experts and facilitators in natural leadership to provide lessons from the natural world to understand how ecosystems can help us to perform better, within business and as individuals.

Organisers of the course describe it as “a ground-breaking approach to leadership, providing a theoretical and practical framework for businesses using principles road-tested by a billion years of evolution.”

Meals and accommodation are provided on-site at the Eden Project, which is home to the largest rainforest in captivity.

The Eden Project is a founding partner of The Planet Mark™, which was created as a result of a meeting between Sir Tim Smit and Steve Malkin, founder of The Planet Mark™, to try and create a truly effective people-driven sustainability programme for any organisation of any size, any sector, any place in the world.

Donations contributed to Eden Project from The Planet Mark™ fund the development of new projects, education programmes and industry specific training programmes which marry nature, architecture, construction, art and creativity, science and technology.

The first Hothouse of 2017 will be held on March 13-17. Three further courses are planned for May 8-12; September 18-22 and October 2-6.
