Through their Planet Mark certification for 2013-14, Harmsen Tilney Shane have:

  • 17% decrease in normalised carbon footprint
  • 30% reduction in carbon emissions per employee
  • Reductions in natural gas use fleet travel and staff commuting
  • Included the London office in carbon footprint reporting


Business Green Week in June 2014.

Harmsen Tilney Shane organised five days of events including generating ideas on sustainability, an urban environment photo competition, a ‘Turn Out the Lights’ day, green commuting and a sustainable pub quiz. They communicated this all over social media.

Review and improve

Harmsen Tilney Shane regularly review and improve how their services are delivered. In particular, they promote the use of products and services from suppliers whose environmental policies are in accordance with their own.

Green Team

The internal ‘Green Team’ champion specific aspects of sustainability such as monitoring overall environmental impact, material selections, furniture credentials, on site implementation, and taking a holistic approach to sustainability. This takes into account wellbeing, trends in ways of working and the influence of new technology on work patterns.
