Little Wing | The Planet Mark

Little Wing

Little Winga national business to business provider of workplace based First Aid training, has achieved certification for The Planet Mark.

This is Little Wing’s first year of business carbon footprint reporting and certification to The Planet Mark. Little Wing total carbon footprint in the year ending December 2019 was 10.3 tCO2e and the relative carbon footprint was 0.6 tCO2e per subcontractor/director.

It first calculated the carbon footprint of its business travel for the year ending December 2019 and set a target to reduce emissions by 5% annually. The business has no offices and it operates its training at client’s sites.

This year’s footprint includes emissions from rail and non-fleet vehicles travels. The business’ travel is the equivalent of travelling 1.5 times round the world, and emits the carbon equivalent of 9 return flights from London to New York.

Steve Malkin, CEO and Founder of The Planet Mark, commented: “We must applaud Little Wing’s commitment to measuring its carbon emissions and target setting to reduce its environmental impact. As a company that has access to other businesses across the country, it is in a prime position to flex its sustainable credentials to a range of organisations, and The Planet Mark is the perfect way to show a scientific and thorough approach to reducing your environmental impact. We’re so happy to have a forward-thinking company Little Wings on board, and I look forward to the relationship growing in the future.”

First year certification to The Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders.

Sustainability can be a huge asset to B2B companies. As companies attempt to integrate sustainability throughout their supply chains, modern and forward-thinking businesses must do more to keep up with the sustainable agenda. Being able to demonstrate clear and measured sustainability policies can be an important tool to winning new and retaining existing clients. As the world embarks on a decade of climate action, it is also important that B2B organisations actively reach out to their stakeholders to promote positive change in the face of ambitious global climate targets.
