UhUb | The Planet Mark

UhUb’s 2nd year of business carbon footprint reporting saw the organisation calculate the emissions from its business operations across the country.

Certification to The Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint by 5% annually and engaging its stakeholders.

Uhub recorded a carbon reduction of 66.8% ending April 2020, resulting in a total carbon footprint of 0.083 tCO2e. This year’s footprint includes emissions associated with business travel – rail and underground. UhUb recorded a carbon footprint of just 0.083 tCO2e, the equivalent of a return flight from London to New York.

Steve Malkin, CEO & Founder of The Planet Mark commented; “It is with particular joy that we are able to re-certify UhUb with The Planet Mark certification. As Pioneers in the sector, we are delighted to have them in our growing community. UhUb epitomises how you can make positive contributions to society and the environment and enjoy the process.”

Stephen Goodall, MD & Founder of UhUb Ltd says; “I am very pleased to be working with The Planet Mark and definitely see this as a most effective tool in creating planned action and results.

UhUb was always designed to be lean and flexible, from a full homeworking network business model to developing and doing only what is valuable for UhUb clients and users in the simplest way possible. This has had the natural effect of making us very low impact.

Our involvement with The Planet Mark has led us to move from ‘recognition & awareness’ of the climate situation to an ‘action’ phase. So, the UhUb design process now ensures that we consider how each tool we create might help our clients & users be more sustainable by degrees. The most obvious way we do this is through technical, method and specific product and tools training. This level of 24/7 accessible training & revision is creating more engaged, efficient, productive and more waste aware workforces and, allows management and learning teams to develop additional focussed training and better allocate efforts where required, reducing time and resource usage across the structure.

We are now expanding our focus to helping our 1000’s of users improves their own sustainability efforts by sharing Planet & Wellness tips for their private and work lives. These hints and tips on sustainable and healthy living will be drawn from several partners of which The Planet Mark is one.

At UhUb we love what we do and having a sustainable focus to assist clients is now a core value we are proud of, as is the recognition of our effort from The Planet Mark.”
