Stephen Kirk joins the board as director. Stephen, a seasoned CEO who has built several successful tech-based businesses, specialises in board-level leadership where he can invest and apply his knowledge to the commercialisation of technology. His areas of expertise include the Internet of Things, autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, mobile payments and other secure transactions. Stephen also brings with him experience in international brand development and in applying digital technology to data measurement and reporting. Stephen provided seed funding for the launch of The Planet Mark™ in 2013.
Sarah Gillett also joins the board as director. Sarah, a founding member of the Planet First team, has most recently been head of Operations at the company, where she's been responsible for managing the certification team and the systems and processes for delivering The Planet Mark™. Sarah will continue with these duties in her new position as director, as well as playing a key role in business development and project management.
Lilly Miller has been appointed Financial director. A Top 20 trained chartered certified accountant, Lilly has previously specialised in corporate restructuring and investment management, as well handling financial management and accounting for SMEs. Lilly joined Planet First as Financial controller when it launched in 2013 and has been instrumental in guiding the business' growth from start-up to recognised brand in the sustainability sector.

The Planet Mark™ was founded in 2013 with the iconic Eden Project in Cornwall, UK, and is awarded to businesses, properties, new developments and projects that are committed to reducing their carbon emissions. It also partners with award-wining charity Cool Earth by pledging to protect an Acre of Rainforest for every business it certifies.
Holders of The Planet Mark™ on average cut their carbon emissions per employee by 10% in 2016 compared to 2015.
