Planet First appoints Sadie Mevlit as business development manager

Planet First, the creator and custodian of The Planet Mark™ sustainability certification programme, has appointed Sadie Mevlit to the new role of business development manager.

Sadie, a sales professional of 17 years, will take up her new full-time position at Planet First at the start of June. She will be responsible for increasing the reach of The Planet Mark™ across all sectors in the UK and internationally.

Sadie joins Planet First from Faversham House, where she has spent the last two years as market sale manager for edie Network, the UK’s largest multi-platform portfolio of sustainability information and resources. Sadie brings with her deep knowledge of the sustainability sector, including certification and standards, having managed the account portfolio of the latter for and edie Live (formerly Sustainability Live), the UK’s leading event for sustainability professionals.

I care passionately about the environment and the world my young son is going to grow up in, and so I’m really excited at the opportunity to grow the reach of The Planet Mark™, a brand with mission to empower organisations and their people to make year-on-year progress on sustainability. I can’t wait to start using my skills and experience to help businesses understand why and how they can become more sustainable,” Sadie said.

During her time working at the edie Network, Sadie has been instrumental in developing new business for the platform, including bespoke edie conferences focusing on core and vertical markets such as retail, communications, reporting, supply chain and the Leaders Forum. She also helped launch and grow the edie Live Advice Clinics, setting up partnerships with various specialists from supply chain, behaviour change, skills, resource, standards (ISO), reporting, communications, carbon management, amongst others.

Before joining edie, Sadie worked for a variety media and publishing businesses, managing sales on publications covering subjects including health and safety and construction.
